Do you remember that I recommended to turn-off shadow copies in a previous post?… well, today Vista made me pay for it; actually, to be precise, it was not Vista but Office. Long story short, my Office got unusable and wasn’t even able to uninstall it.. so I said, “well, I will just use system restore”… WRONG!!, I forgot that I had turned off the system restore functionality (by turning off shadow copies).
So, the obvious question is… why did Vista bundle system protection (restore) with shadow copies?? :/ Why can’t someone have system restore capabilities without having shadow copies? (just like in XP) ... :(
